Once, a professor was narrating a story to his class.
There was a big accident once, that happened on a big ship in the middle of the sea. The captain ordered the ship passengers to be evacuated. There was a young couple on the ship.
When their turn came to board the lifeboat, there was only room for one person on the boat.
At this moment the man removed his wife from the queue to step forward and jumped on the boat.
The woman standing on the sinking ship shouted a sentence to her husband while leaving.
Now the professor stopped and asked the students – “what do you think, what would that woman have said to her husband?”
Most of the students immediately shouted, “the woman said – I hate you! I hate you!” Some students said – you’re not doing the right thing.
Some students said – you cheated me.
Almost all of the answers were like this.
The professor’s attention was drawn to a student who was still very quiet and had not answered the question. The professor asked him with hopeful look “Tell me, what do you think the wife must have said to her husband?”
The boy said – “I think, the woman must have said – take care of our child!”
The professor was surprised, he asked the boy – “have you heard this story before?”
The boy said – “no, but this is what my mother told my father while dying of illness.”
The professor nodded sadly – “your answer is correct!”
The professor proceeded with the story – the ship sank, the woman died, the husband reached the shore, and he spent the rest of his life raising his only daughter, who was with her grandmother when the ship sank.
Many years later, when the man had died, one day while cleaning, his daughter found a diary of her father.
From the diary she learned that while her parents were traveling on that ship, her mother was suffering from a deadly disease and had only a few days left of her life.
On such a difficult occasion her father took a tough decision and jumped on the lifeboat.
Her father had written in the diary – “without you my life has no meaning, I wanted to join the ocean with you. But when I thought of our dear child, I had to leave your mother alone.”
When the professor finished the story, the whole class was silent.
There are many right and wrong things and many complexities in this world, which are not easy to understand.
That is why every situation cannot be assessed accurately by looking from the surface without knowing the depth.
The one who apologizes first in case of discord, it is not necessary that he is at fault. Maybe he considers it more important to maintain the relationship.
The friend who pays the bill while partying, eating and drinking with friends, may not necessarily have his pocket full of notes. For him, money may be less important in front of friendship. He might rather have a big heart for his friends.
Those who help you are not necessarily doing it under the burden of your favours. They help you because kindness and compassion reside in their hearts.
Today’s life has become difficult because we have stopped understanding people from the heart and are instead judging them superficially. Being a little understanding and showing a little humanity is what can show us the right path.
Friends, many times in life, we may not be able to choose between right and wrong. We need to connect with our heart at that moment, and then make the right choice. Because everything seen by the eyes and heard by the ears is not true, but what the heart says is always right.
Humility and purity are the Keys. Purity bring about openness of heart. Openness create free interaction with all. Without purity there is no unity, and without unity there will always be prejudice.

एकदा एक प्राध्यापक आपल्या वर्गाला एक कथा सांगत होते.
एक मोठं जहाज समुद्राच्या मध्यभागी प्रवास करत असताना एक भयंकर अपघात झाला. कॅप्टनने सर्व प्रवाशांना लगेच जहाज सोडण्याचा आदेश दिला.
त्या जहाजावर एक तरुण दांपत्यही होते. जेव्हा त्यांच्या लाइफबोटमध्ये बसण्याची वेळ आली, तेव्हा फक्त एका व्यक्तीसाठीच जागा उरली होती. त्या क्षणी त्या माणसाने आपल्या पत्नीला रांगेतून मागे ढकललं आणि स्वतः लाइफबोटमध्ये उडी मारली. जहाज बुडत असताना त्या स्त्रीने आपल्या नवऱ्याकडे पाहत एक वाक्य ओरडून सांगितलं.
तेथेच प्राध्यापक थांबले आणि विद्यार्थ्यांना विचारलं – “तुमच्या मते, त्या स्त्रीने आपल्या नवऱ्याला काय सांगितलं असेल?”
बहुतांश विद्यार्थ्यांनी लगेच ओरडून सांगितलं – “ती म्हणाली असेल, मला तुझा तिटकारा आहे! मला तू आवडत नाहीस!”
काही विद्यार्थ्यांनी म्हटलं – “तू चुकीचं करत आहेस!”
तर काहींनी म्हटलं – “तू माझी फसवणूक केलीस!”
सर्व उत्तरे अशाच प्रकारची होती.
प्राध्यापकांनी पाहिलं की एक विद्यार्थी मात्र गप्प बसला होता.
ते त्याच्याकडे वळले आणि विचारलं – “तुला काय वाटतं? त्या स्त्रीने आपल्या नवऱ्याला काय सांगितलं असेल?”
तो मुलगा म्हणाला – “मला वाटतं, तिने म्हटलं असेल, आपल्यामुलाचीकाळजीघे!”
प्राध्यापक आश्चर्यचकित झाले. त्यांनी विचारलं – “तू आधी ही कथा ऐकली आहेस का?”
मुलगा म्हणाला – “नाही सर, पण माझ्या आईने माझ्या वडिलांना असंच सांगितलं होतं, जेव्हा ती आजारपणात मरणाच्या दारात होती.”
प्राध्यापक दुःखाने मान हलवली आणि म्हणाले – “तुझं उत्तर अगदी बरोबर आहे.”
ते पुढे म्हणाले – जहाज बुडालं, ती स्त्री मरण पावली. तिचा नवरा किनाऱ्यावर पोहोचला आणि उरलेलं आयुष्य त्याने आपल्या एकुलत्या एक मुलीच्या संगोपनासाठी घालवलं, जी जहाज बुडाल्यावेळी आजीकडे होती.

याच वर्षांनी, जेव्हा तो माणूसही मरण पावला, त्याची मुलगी त्याच्या वस्तू आवरत असताना तिला वडिलांची एक डायरी सापडली.
त्या डायरीतून तिला समजलं की, तिच्या आईला त्या प्रवासादरम्यान एक असाध्य आजार झाला होता आणि तिच्या आयुष्याचे फक्त काही दिवस उरले होते.
त्या कठीण प्रसंगी तिच्या वडिलांनी एक अत्यंत कठोर निर्णय घेतला आणि ते लाइफबोटमध्ये उडी मारून वाचले.
डायरीत लिहिलं होतं – “तुझ्याशिवाय माझं आयुष्य निरर्थक आहे. मला तुझ्यासोबतच या समुद्रात विलीन व्हायचं होतं.
पण आपल्या प्रिय लेकराचा विचार आला आणि मी तुला एकटीला सोडून आलो.”
प्राध्यापकांनी कथा संपवली, आणि संपूर्ण वर्ग शांत झाला.
या जगात बरंच काही बरोबर आणि चूक असं दिसतं, पण सगळं तसं सोपं नसतं.
प्रत्येक परिस्थितीचं मूल्यांकन वरवर पाहून करता येत नाही कारण अनेक गोष्टींची खोली आपल्याला माहीत नसते.
भांडण झाल्यावर जो पहिला माफी मागतो, तो नेहमीच दोषी असेल असं नाही.
कदाचित त्याच्यासाठी नातं टिकवणं अधिक महत्त्वाचं असतं.
जे मित्र पार्टीत बिल भरतात, ते नेहमी श्रीमंत असतात असं नाही.
कदाचित त्यांच्यासाठी पैशापेक्षा मैत्री अधिक मोलाची असते आणि त्यांचं हृदय मोठं असतं.
जे लोक तुमची मदत करतात, ते उपकार फेडत नाहीत ते मदत करतात कारण त्यांच्या हृदयात दया आणि करुणा असते.
आजचं जीवन कठीण झालं आहे कारण आपण लोकांना हृदयानेसमजूनघेणं थांबवलं आहे आणि फक्त बाहेरून त्यांचं मूल्य ठरवत आहोत.
थोडं समजून घेणं आणि थोडी मानवता दाखवणं हाच आपल्याला योग्य मार्ग दाखवू शकतो.
मित्रांनो, आयुष्यात अनेक वेळा आपण योग्य आणि अयोग्य यामध्ये गोंधळतो.
त्या क्षणी आपल्या हृदयाशीजोडणं आवश्यक असतं, कारण डोळ्यांनी पाहिलेलं आणि कानांनी ऐकलेलं सगळं खरं नसतं पण हृदय जे सांगतं ते नेहमी खरं असतं.
नम्रता आणि पवित्रता हेच खरे गुरुकिल्ली आहेत. पवित्रता हृदयात खुलीवृत्ती आणते, आणि खुलीवृत्ती सर्वांशी मुक्त संवाद घडवते. पवित्रतेशिवाय ऐक्य येत नाही, आणि ऐक्याशिवाय नेहमी पूर्वग्रह राहतो.
