In a city lived two brothers. One of them was the city’s biggest businessman, while the other was a drug addict who often got into fights while intoxicated.
People were always surprised to see such a huge difference between the two, even though they were children of the same parents, had received the same education and were raised in the same environment.
Some people decided to find out the reason and went to their house in the evening.
As soon as they entered, they saw a man completely drunk. They went up to him and asked, “Brother, why are you like this? You fight with people for no reason, beat your wife and children while drunk… what is the reason behind all this?”
“My father,” the brother replied.
“Your father!! How?” the people asked in surprise.
Brother said, “My father was an alcoholic. He often beat my mother and both of us brothers. What else can you expect from me? I am just like him…”
Then those people went to the other brother. He was busy with his work and came to meet them after a while.
“Sorry, I got a little late. Please tell me, how can I help you?”, the brother said.
They asked him the same question, “You are such a respected businessman, you have influence everywhere, everyone praises you. What is the reason for all your success?”
“My father,” came the reply.
The people asked in astonishment, “How is that possible?”
“My father was an alcoholic. In his drunken state, he used to beat us. I watched all this silently. And at that very moment, I decided that I never wanted to become like him. I wanted to become a decent, respected, and successful person and that is exactly what I became,” brother concluded.
Moral Of The Story:
Becoming good or bad depends on our thinking. We should take inspiration for good deeds from others – whether they are parents or even enemies.

एका शहरात दोन भाऊ राहत होते. एक भाऊ खूप मोठा आणि यशस्वी व्यावसायिक होता, तर दुसरा दारू आणि व्यसनाच्या आहारी गेला होता. तो नेहमी भांडणे करायचा आणि लोकांना त्रास द्यायचा.
लोकांना आश्चर्य वाटायचे की एकाच घरात वाढलेल्या, एकाच शाळेत शिकलेल्या आणि एकाच वातावरणात राहिलेल्या दोन भावांमध्ये एवढा फरक कसा?
एके दिवशी काही लोकांनी याचे कारण जाणून घेण्याचे ठरवले.
ते प्रथम व्यसनी भावाकडे गेले. तो दारूच्या नशेत होता. त्यांनी विचारले,
“तू असा का वागतोस? लोकांशी भांडतोस, कुटुंबाला त्रास देतोस. यामागचे कारण काय?”
तो म्हणाला,
“माझे वडील. ते दारू पित असत आणि आईला व आम्हा दोघा भावांना मारहाण करत असत. मी त्यांच्यासारखाच झालो.”
नंतर ते यशस्वी भावाकडे गेले. त्यांनी त्यालाही तोच प्रश्न विचारला,
“तुमच्या यशाचे रहस्य काय आहे?”
तो हसून म्हणाला,
“माझे वडील.”
लोक आश्चर्यचकित झाले. त्यांनी विचारले,
“ते कसे?”
तो म्हणाला,
“माझे वडील दारू पित असत आणि आम्हाला मारहाण करत असत. हे सर्व पाहून मी एक निर्णय घेतला की मला त्यांच्यासारखे बनायचे नाही. मला चांगला, सन्माननीय आणि यशस्वी माणूस बनायचे आहे. आणि त्यासाठी मी मेहनत घेतली.”
बोध:
माणूस चांगला किंवा वाईट बनतो ते त्याच्या विचारांवर आणि निर्णयांवर अवलंबून असते. परिस्थिती सारखी असली तरी प्रत्येकजण वेगवेगळे निर्णय घेऊ शकतो. त्यामुळे नेहमी चांगल्या गोष्टींपासून प्रेरणा घ्यावी आणि योग्य मार्ग निवडावा.
